A SWS Sustainability Coordinator is assigned to your account (not just a sales representative) to help you develop or enhance your sustainability plan, reduce waste costs, improve recycling and increase operational efficiency. Your Sustainability Coordinator will be with you and your organization throughout your program to provide on-going support and ideas on how to make your program successful.

Education, Training and Monitoring

Your Sustainability Coordinator offers education and training to develop and nurture a “Culture Change” among personnel to ensure long-term success with your recycling and sustainability program. Workers need reminders that their business is changing the way it handles waste and recycling. We will dedicate people to work inside your facility auditing, implementing the plan, training and educating staff, developing best practices, tweaking, monitoring, and piloting new ideas with a goal of “Culture Change” in mind. Our signature service is the education, training and monitoring and reporting that we provide for each client. Our belief is that waste and recycling success is achieved through “Behavioral Modification” not just new boxes or equipment or a better process.

Consulting and Auditing

The first step in any environmental or sustainability program is to perform a waste audit. This is a complete examination of every component of your waste streams. The goal of the waste audit is to illustrate where waste is generated, how it is generated, how much is generated, how it moves through the facility, and its overall composition. Additionally, we will examine factors such as labor costs, business type, size and space issues of your facility, tenant considerations, recycling history, and the details of your current disposal service and costs. The thorough information that is gathered during the waste audit enables us to develop an overall waste solution and environmental plan that encompasses solid waste and recycling plans tailored to meet your needs and specific sustainability goals.
